Black gold

I'm not usually a conspiracy nut (though I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Diana, Princess of Wales, had faked her own death in that tunnel eight years ago), but I'm beginning to wonder if news of terrorist threats in Saudi Arabia aren't being leaked directly from the board room at the demonic BP corporation or one of the other major oil companies. After all, BP are doing very well indeed out of the current oil price surge.

I'm not the only one, either.

Let's face it, in a world where US old money interests can effectively buy the presidency of the richest country on Earth, invade a foreign country and destroy its infrastructure on grounds that are about as solid as a spiderweb, then award many of the contracts for rebuilding that infrastructure to its own friends, anything is possible.

And Tony Blair just keeps kowtowing to them, despite repeated indications that if it ever came to it, the US would refuse us the exact kind of help we're currently giving them, running their illegal war for them and putting our soldiers in the way of angry young people in a country that means nothing to most British people.
